Curtis is a father of two teenage girls and engaged to be married to a wonderful woman bringing her and her son into their family in the near future. Curtis is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a Masters degree in Social work. He is a licensed clinical social worker(LCSW) by the State of Florida. His life experiences have prepared him to work with different challenges people face every day. He works well with youth and veterans to provide the support they need as they transverse through life.
Born and raised in the Greater Toronto (Canada) area, Curtis moved to Florida as a teenager with his family, in 2003. After graduating high school, he joined the US Army where he was active duty for five years and completed two tours of duty in Afghanistan. He was sworn in as a US citizen in Kandahar while on active deployment. Following his career in the military, he wanted to devote his life to helping individuals and the community. With encouragement from his mentors, he went back to school to become a councilor.
Curtis believes that all individuals are unique and require an individualized approach to counseling. He works to build a connection of trust and understanding with each individual. He believes that “life is a team sport and when everyone takes their place on the team , we all do better.”
